Let's assume you are using a 5W30 engine oil:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first number is the <strong>Winter degree<\/strong>which indicates the viscosity at low temperatures - in this case only five. The second number after the W stands for the <strong>degree of operation or the viscosity<\/strong> at operating temperatures. We are talking here about <strong>0.03 mm<\/strong> between the cylinder wall and the piston - as thin as a human hair. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">So when you get in the car and immediately put the engine under stress, all these engine components are moving at less than ideal tolerances.
